DEF Grant Program

The Grant Program is intended to support ideas generated by teachers or staff members to enhance classroom learning or to provide other district-based opportunities for improving the educational process and academic achievement.  The Grants are intended to support ideas generated by staff members to enhance classroom learning or to provide other District-based opportunities for the improvement of education and academic achievement.

For the 2025-26 school year:

  • Project 1: Kids of Steel. The project will allow staff to purchase fitness bands for students so they can individually track their progress, with the goal for students to run a marathon distance while in the program. Staff recipient: McCall Emerick, Grade 6 Teacher and Maria Cosme, paraprofessional. 
  • Project 2: Kilowatt Kloset. Support for the Klosets in both buildings to provide in-school resources of hygiene products, clothing, etc. so students can succeed in school and in life. Staff recipient: Olivia Fyda, District Social Worker. 
  • Project 3: Sustainability Grant. The grant will enable the continuation of the Dynamic Dynamo program, purchasing supplies to allow students to keep the sixth grade garden successful. Staff recipient: McCall Emerick, Grade 6 Teacher. 
  • Project 4: Coaching Boys To Men. This program leverages the power of sports by providing high school coaches with resources to promote respectful behavior among their players. Staff recipient: Amanda Noel, Athletic Director. 

In the twelve years of the grant program, the Dynamo Education Foundation has awarded staff members over $31,000 for 40 classroom projects, activities, and programs.
